Last week, we launched Utiq in France and welcomed our new MD, Sophie Poncin to the team.

We’re incredibly excited about Sophie joining the Utiq, to spearhead growth in this critical European market. Our launch there opens new perspectives for the advertising industry by redefining the role of telecom operators in marketing – with Orange being one of the founding Telco JV partners.

Sophie began her career at France Télévision in 1998 as the Commercial Director of the advertising department. She later joined Google in 2006 before taking over as the Director of Orange Advertising France in 2008, where she led initiatives such as targeted television and addressable audiences.

In parallel, Sophie has also had the opportunity to represent her sector as the President of the SYNDICAT DES REGIES INTERNET Internet from 2015 to 2018, during which she launched the Digital Ad Trust Label.

Utiq’s CEO, Marc Bresseel commented, “We are thrilled to have Sophie carry Utiq’s ambitions in France – delivering on our unique Telco-powered value proposition to benefit and change the digital advertising ecosystem for the better. Sophie is absolutely the person to lead that drive.”

Sophie also added “My mission will be to contribute to fostering a responsible digital world by supporting the digital sovereignty of users, publishers, and brands – transparent conditions that I believe are necessary to restore market trust and continue its development – and this is what Utiq stands for.”
